life

each day there seems like so many obstacles and boulders on the path.
I want to just pull off a Georgia O'Keeffe sometimes -- get a cool place in the desert of New Mexico and paint big flowers with no one bothering me.
Her artistic genius was not just the beautiful paintings she made, but that she could create a life where those paintings were her only reality.
In two days I am off for a two week break, two conferences which hopefully will renew me a bit.
Because if you don't fill the tank, you run out of gas.

"As artists, we must learn to be self nourishing. We must become alert enough to consciously replenish our creative resources as we draw on them – to restock the trout pond, so to speak." --Julia Cameron

  1. This is a beautiful entry Em! I finally filled my pages in our journal. Now the pages just await my words. I guess I shouldn't mail them to NJ seeing as you're leaving soon. But they could be waiting for you when you get back home! Perhaps that would be a nice welcome back.
I need to respond to your email.I'm so behind in life! Anyway, that's the busiest week of the year on the peninsula and I'm pretty sure there won't be a room to be had. It's the concourse d'elegance...one of the country's biggest and most elite auto shows. The hotels triple their prices and have 4 night minimum stays. We'll try to figure something out! I so wish I had room in this hovel.

  3. We need to fill the well or we get so dry we can barely create. Enjoy your two weeks off.
